I did not know about the legalities in France against burial ground images. Nor was I aware of the historic persuasion of contamination concerns. Absolutely intriguing and delightful reading!
While I haven't had the opportunity to experience it, I'm told by a friend who moved to PEI that she was there many years and was always the new arrival. I expect this has soften with immigrants now welcomed to the Maritimes and the more recently the rush to buy properties there and work from home.
